Imagine a tart with a cumbly basbousa base. Sounds like the perfect mouth-watering dessert, doesn’t it? Now, get baking.
Ingredients
Tart ingredients:
- 4 Kiri squares
- 1 cup semolina flour
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 cup coconut flakes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Filling:
- 12 Kiri squares
- 3 tbsp corn starch
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp pistachio

Cooking steps
- Mix Kiri cheese, semolina flour, butter, baking powder, coconut flakes, sugar, egg, vanilla extract
- Cover bottom of pan and refrigerate
- boil sugar and milk in a saucepan
- Add corn starch
- When thick, let cool for 3 minutes
- Mix in Kiri and vanilla
- Let cool for 5 minutes
- Pour over tart base
- Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180°
- Garnish with slivered pistachio
